내 딸 지영이에게
낯설은 청주에 이사 올 땐 우리 딸 엄마 뱃속에서 태어나기 전이었는데 어느덧 벌써 대학교 입학을 앞두고 있네?
항상 엄마가 하던 말이 우리 딸은 저절로 컸다고 하곤 했지
진심이었어. 잘해주지 못하고 늘 부족함이 많았지만 그래서 항상 미안함이 함께했지. 그런데 벌써 이렇게 대학까지 가게되서 엄마는 얼마나 자랑스럽고 사랑스러운지 몰라.
오늘 아침 OT간다고 서둘러 나갔지? 며칠 전 편지지 우편으로 받아놓고 깜빡하고 있다가 너가 OT간다고 나간 다음에 생각나서 이렇게 서두 없이 엄마 마음 몇 자 적어보는거야
미안해. 마음 정리해서 정성껏 마음 전달해야 하는데 말야
그래서 예전에 초등학교 때문에 시골 큰집에서 다닐 때 엄마랑 e메일 주고받던 걸 컴열어서 읽어보게 됐어
딸은 엄마한테 짝꿍이라고 표현했더라. 딸 짝꿍이 얼마동안 더 될진 모르지만 그때만 해도 딸한테는 엄마가 최고였나 봐.
지금은 엄마보다는 친구들이 우선순위가 아닌 생각해…….
요즘 친구들이랑 많이 바쁜 걸로 봐서 말야. 그렇게 딸은 홀로서기를 하고 있는 거겠지? 암튼 어느새 훌쩍 커버린 딸이 엄마한테는 고맙고 그저 감사할 뿐이지 아프지 않고 건강하게 의지를 갖고 정직하고 성실하게 나 자신을 책임질 줄 알고
지영이로 거듭날 수 있게 학교생활 잘하기를 부탁해본다.
지영이 뒤엔 항상 엄마가 있다는 걸 잊지 말고
대학교 생활 승승장구하길
